Tanzania Bema chef's Award at hand

The Tanzania Health Food Research Organization (TAHEFORO) has introduced the best chef’s award (Bema Chef’s Award Tanzania) that will encourage extending creativity on Tanzanian natural food cooking art which are in danger to disappear.

Addressing to journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday the Chair person Benedict Paul Maatoo said that the competition will be launched recently after completing preparations.

“Our society has abandoned eating our natural foods which has a lot of natural and safety fertilizers for human health, and we prefer using modern package food that are not safe healthily” said the chairperson.     

The award will be competing to obtain the best chefs, hotels, television stations, radio stations, features writers, and researchers that will deal with Tanzanian natural food.

“We will offer award to the best television station that will show and encourage natural food cooking art programs” added Maato.   

According to TAHEFORO research, there are some forest fruits, local beers, and vegetables like mushroom had ignored to be used by some members of the society hence become unknown to current generation.

The Secretary General of TAHEFORO, Dr. Gabriel T. Ndunguru said that there is a possibility of loosing nature drinks since modern culture has affected the new generation hence ignored using local beer.

Dr. Ndunguru urges researcher to volunteer in conducting research in order to rescue the nation from ignoring natural food which are very secure for human kind health.
