Admission Requirements” for the programme they wish to enter.
SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The student’s entrance requirements are based
on the following conditions and categories:
Category A: Direct Entry (Form VI graduates)
(a)A certificate of
Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least three credit passes
obtained prior to sitting for the Certificate of Secondary Education
Examination ACSEE); AND
(b)An Advanced
Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least two
principle passes and a total of 4.5 or more points.
Category B: Equivalent Qualification (Diploma
holders)
Earned a Diploma
in Journalism from an accredited School
of Journalism or
related Institution and must have obtained three (3) credits or five (5) passes
in CSEE.
Category C: Entrance Examination
Qualifications
Applicants who have at least two principal passes,
but have less than 4.5 total points in the ACSEE must undertake pre entry
remedial course of six weeks and pass an Examination thereafter.
Category D: Mature age examination
Earned a Certificate in Journalism from an Accredited College
or University with a Pass with Distinction classification and must have three
(3) credits and:
(a) Have
25 years of age or older in the year of application
(b) Have
completed Form IV or equivalent at least five years prior to the year of
application
(c) Have
attended extra – mural classes of residential courses and submit a letter
of recommendation
from the tutor, or
(d)Have attended a
residential course at an Adult
Education College
and submit a letter of recommendation from the Principal
(e) Pass
the Tumaini University,
Iringa University College
Entrance Examination
DEPARTMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The department encourages all admitted candidates, if possible
to come with their own still picture cameras, digital cameras, video cameras,
sound recorders and laptops.
