The Department of
Journalism is committed to:
1.
Providing facilities for the study of and training in the
principles, procedures, and techniques of journalism and subjects related to
journalism.
2.
Preparing students to obtain recognized professional
qualifications in journalism and related subjects such as public relations and
advertising.
3.
Researching the theoretical, operational, and organizational
problems and training needs in journalism in the United Republic of Tanzania.
4.
Evaluating the quality of the journalism programme offered at Tumaini University,
Iringa University College.
5.
Sponsoring, arranging, and/or providing facilities for conferences
and seminars.
